About Very Fine and an extremely rare type; slight die flaw after II.

Prior to 1746, George II farthings were struck with a U (GEORGIUS) but were subsequently struck with a V (GEORGIVS).

Peck notes that this V/U variety must be either a corrected die error or an unworn die with the IUS ending officially altered for further use.
